In a disturbing incident that has shocked the nation, five individuals were arrested, and two minors were detained in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri for allegedly killing a migrant worker over suspicions that he had consumed beef. The victim, identified as Sabir Malik, a laborer who had recently moved to Haryana from Bihar, was brutally beaten to death by a group of cow vigilantes, according to the police.
The tragic incident occurred on August 27 when the accused lured Malik and another laborer to a shop under the guise of selling empty plastic bottles for scrap. Once there, the seven suspects attacked the two men, severely thrashing them. A harrowing video of the beatings, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the extent of the brutality inflicted on the victims.
Tragically, Malik succumbed to his injuries, while the other laborer is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for swift justice.
Police officer Bharat Bhushan stated, “On August 27, we received a call reporting suspicion of beef being cooked in a local slum. Officers responded promptly, collected meat samples, and sent them to a laboratory for testing. However, the suspects later took matters into their own hands, abducting and assaulting the laborers.”
The five men arrested in connection with the crime have been identified as Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljit, and Sahil. The police have assured a thorough investigation and have pledged to take appropriate legal action against all those involved.
This incident has once again raised concerns over mob violence and the growing trend of vigilantism in the country. Authorities are under pressure to ensure that justice is served, and the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.
